So where does the name “Mountes” come from? Let me introduce you to my buddies from High School:
We all had our nick names, mine was “Mountes”. In our early High School days, a band called The Nits had a hit, “Dutch Mountains“, curious as our country doesn’t really have any mountains (hills in the south, other than that, our country is mainly flat). Somewhere at the end of that song one can hear: “Mountains….Mountains….Mountains”, but rather sloppy pronounced, more like: “Mountes ….. Mountes….Mountes”. My last name, Van den Berg, means: “From The Mountain”. Hence, my nickname.
